The decorative scheme of the altar, fragmented at the time of the excavation, is now partially reassembled, thanks to an intervention to relocate the recovered fragments.

The altar features the recurring theme of vegetal scrolls, presented in two variants, respectively corresponding to the pedestal block and the column shaft.

It is presumed that the altar housed the 17th-century painting with a purgatorial theme, now preserved in the Mother Church of Misterbianco, depicting a soul in purgatory reaching the Trinity through the intercession of Saint Francis.
